Emily Unwin is a queer writer from the Deep South. She was endorsed by Arts Council England to live and work in the UK under the Global Talent Visa, with Exceptional Promise in Literature. She currently works as the programme manager for Granta Writers’ Workshop.

Her work is featured or forthcoming in Mister, Oh Reader, The London Magazine, Litro, Heavy Feather Review, Gigantic Sequins (finalist for the 2021 flash fiction contest), Polyester Zine, & Made in Appalachia (long-listed for the 2022 Perennial Press Chapbook Award), among others.

Her writing has been supported by Creative Scotland and The White Pube’s Creative Grant, and she’s studied with the Stinging Fly and Yan Ge’s Parallel Words programme.

Em is represented by Cal Morgan at Enliven Endeavors.
